ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Avenue of Heroes is a military service recognition program sponsored by the City of Coronado. The program honors the many men and women who currently or have lived in Coronado during their military careers. The Avenue of Heroes Committee selects nominees to be honored in a ceremony open to the community in either May or November of each year. Nominations are accepted on a continuing basis and the public is encouraged to nominate a deserving veteran, living or deceased.

Officials with the City of Coronado, VFW Post 2422, the Third & Fourth Streets Neighborhood Association, and the Coronado Historical Association worked together to develop the program in 2014, which continues today to honor local men and women who have honorably served their country.
